Ashley Malia Cole [magenta]
is 16 years old and is in the 11th Grade at Patrick Henry High School.
Ashley has been involved in her school's drama program for four years and has been working with the hot,
fabulous, amazing Wendy for two years now and has loved every second of it!!
Ashley hopes to continue working in theatre and enjoys making an impact on children's lives.
She hopes that everyone will "Step UP and help the cause!"
Ashley loves making children happy and bringing theatre to them is so much fun.
She will be in Step UP Theatre until she is old and ugly.
"To my cast members: 5, 6, 7, 8, and scene!! I love you guys so much!"
Jasmine Fahie [brown]
AKA: DJ Jazzie Jeff is 15 and goes to San Diego High School: International Studies.
She's representing the Class of 2009. Jasmine is very intelligent and spends her time reading,
writing, acting and speaking in tongues. She is fluent in French, English, Sign Language, and Ebonics.
This is her second year working with Ms. Maples and creating outreach theatre.
She believes that anything is possible if we put our minds to it.
Jasmine would like to thank her Islander parents for all of their support and driving skills.
Jasmine would like to tell all kids to "keep it real and never give up even when you hit a rough patch."
Berenis Gonzalez [turquoise]
AKA: Bere, B, Hungry, hungry hippo, is a proud Mexican young actress working with Step UP Theatre to help serve the community.
This is her third year collaborating with the Wendy Bird and has enjoyed every moment of working with her.
She attends San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and hopes to one day take over the world...
one elementary school at a time!
Rocio Hernandez [green]
is a 15 year old sophomore at Hoover High School.
She is new to Step UP Theatre and is so excited to be a part of its very first season!
She is currently involved in her school's Visual and Performing Arts Academy, where she's involved in theatre.
Rocio has worked on all high school productions put on at her school since her freshman year.
By joining Step UP Theatre she hopes to improve her acting skills and expand her possibilities.
Rocio is involved in different community programs that help teens create social change.
As a cast member of Step UP, she's excited to affect children in her community and have a positive influence on their futures.
Betty Hua [red]
is 16 and a Junior at Hoover High School.
Betty is a part of the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Hoover and has been involved in four school productions.
This is her first season with Step UP Theatre. She likes reading and creating (poorly made) short movies.
By joining Step UP Theatre she hopes she'll gain the experience of a lifetime!
She's involved in many organizations within her community. Betty hopes to attend UCLA.
Nia Tikoo [blue]
[Nee-Ah Tee-Koh] goes to San Diego High School of International Studies and is proud to represent the Class of 2009!
This is her first year with Step UP Theatre and she hopes to bring knowledge and awareness to younger children in the community.
She enjoys acting, reading, writing, playing sports and hanging out with the incredible people she surrounds herself with.
Nia is fluent in French and English and is Asian, Indian, Black and White.
She hopes to go to college for journalism and culinary arts. To the kids "Stay positive and peaceful"
